Fort Collins, CO – In May 2015, the first Street Dog Clinic took place in Fort Collins, Colorado, across from the Murphy Center, a day shelter servicing people experiencing homelessness. The Street Dog Coalition has since expanded to over sixty cities across the U.S. and the growth continues, including the addition of an RV donated by ElleVet Sciences, The Street Dog Coalition’s newest Legacy Sponsor.

This newly wrapped RV will be making its Street Dog Coalition debut near the same spot SDC organized its first pop-up street clinic nearly ten years ago. The RV will be parked outside the Murphy Center on Conifer Street on Tuesday, March 19 when The Street Dog Coalition will be hosting its weekly clinic, providing free veterinary care to the pets of unhoused clients of the Murphy Center.

The RV has spent several years on the road with the ElleVet Project, traveling from Maine to California to Montana, crossing the country to areas of need.  It is well-suited to its new life with The Street Dog Coalition, continuing on as a mobile veterinary clinic. The addition of this RV to The Street Dog Coalition’s available mechanisms for providing services will allow SDC to expand its operations even further.

Amanda Howland, co-founder of the Ellevet Project and Ellevet Sciences says “we are incredibly excited to join forces with The Street Dog Coalition as we have long admired their dedication and it is the organization most closely aligned with the mission of the ElleVet Project.  Working together is the best way we can think of to help these pets in need.”

In addition to the immediate provision of the RV, ElleVet Sciences will also be welcomed as SDC’s newest Legacy Sponsor, a level of support that indicates a commitment to provide monetary support of SDC in perpetuity. Other Legacy Sponsors include Merck Animal Health, Western Veterinary Partners, and Hill’s Pet Nutrition. ElleVet is the scientific leader in the use of cannabinoids for animal health; their CBD + CBDA products are the only products to be proven safe and effective in multiple clinical trials. ElleVet’s proprietary CBD + CBDA products for relief from joint discomfort, stress, and itching, as well as offering neuro support and overall wellness for dogs and cats. Ellevet employees will continue to provide volunteer time on the van under the direction of SDC Leadership.

SDC’s Executive Director, Katrina Weschler, says, “One of SDC’s four core values is unbridled collaboration because we are better together, and we are thrilled to take our new collaboration with ElleVet on the road!”
